The download is a small bootstrap installer (~12-18 MB). On first launch, the app requires an internet connection to activate your license key and download the local speech model.
2. Local & Offline Dictation
After the initial model download and activation, audio transcription is processed locally on your device without cloud transcription. Purchase, licensing, downloads, updater checks, support, and website analytics continue to use online services.
3. Windows Hardware Compatibility
Local transcription on Windows requires a 64-bit processor with AVX2, F16C, and FMA support (modern Intel Core or AMD Ryzen). Older low-power CPUs can install the app but are not supported for dictation.
